Together, We Build Brighter Tomorrows.
Through the Marcus Alexander Foundation legacy, we strive to provide safe, affordable housing that fosters connection and uplifts those in need.
By leveraging the power of the community, we offer individuals a chance to secure quality living spaces that promote social interaction, improved outcomes and support among residents.
Together, the work blends wellness and community care to empower individuals to thrive in both mind and environment.
To create thriving communities where everyone has access to safe, affordable shared housing that supports holistic well-being, and meaningful connection.
The Marcus Alexander Foundation is dedicated to honoring Marcus Alexander’s legacy by providing accessible, affordable shared housing spaces that uplift individuals and families. We empower our community through a wellness approach, community support, helping each person find stability, connection, and the opportunity to thrive.
I’m Katherine Rivera, founder of the Marcus Alexander Foundation. My passion for accessible and affordable shared housing is rooted in personal experience and profound loss. When we lost someone incredibly dear to me—Marcus Alexander, whose name the foundation proudly carries- was inspired to honor his legacy by creating supportive community living spaces. Whose memory is the heart and inspiration behind our mission—I was compelled to do more than grieve. I chose to honor his legacy by confronting the very challenges he and so many others have faced: the overwhelming barriers to safe, dignified, and community-driven housing.
Guided by Marcus’s spirit of kindness, generosity, and resilience, I founded this organization to transform hardship into hope. I believe everyone deserves a place not just to live, but to feel supported, valued, and empowered. The Marcus Alexander Foundation is more than a project; it’s a promise—to build inclusive spaces where individuals can thrive, find connection, and carry forward the spirit of community that Marcus so beautifully embodied.
Every initiative we undertake is an act of remembrance and a step toward a future where everyone belongs. That vision drives me, and it’s my greatest honor to invite others to join us on this journey.

Legacy Street Lions Project is dedicated to empowering men transitioning from incarceration, helping them rebuild their lives and re-enter the community with renewed purpose and dignity. Our mission is to keep men off the streets by providing safe, supportive shared housing and guiding them toward self-sufficiency through our comprehensive entrepreneurship or career pathway program.
By fostering a community of accountability, opportunity, and mutual support, we equip our members with the tools, skills, and confidence needed to create lasting positive change—for themselves, their families they serve and the neighborhoods they call home. At Legacy Street Lions, we believe every man deserves a second chance to thrive and lead with legacy.
